Fantastic Mosaic Art
In Te Ngahere we have been learning how to make mosaic art. We were learning to make shapes into animals or plants that live in our Ngahere . We learnt that In order to have a matching piece of art, that goes with our Ngahere QR codes. I really enjoyed it when I was making my rainbow macaw because it was so helpful for me to keep my head clear before I have to do all of my other school work ,like math, writing and reading. I did really well when I was making my mosaic macaw because all of my shapes were in there perfect place. I think that I can do better next time as I need to work on my color coordination so they can match and so they don’t look like a mess. it was difficult for me as we only had the one image. Also when we were making the mosaic we had to use polyline to create our own shapes. Do you think you can do a piece of mosaic art?

Crazy And Fantastic Technology
On Tuesday the year 7&8’s went to technology. The year 8’s were in woodwork and the year 7’s were in cooking. Us year 7’s made apple sponges and it was divine. I had so much fun when we were making the apple sponge because we had to whip the cream, then we had to mix our dry ingredients on our utility plate an the dry ingredients were flour and baking powder and that was pretty much it. The funny part was when we had to wait for it to cook because when we were sweeping the floor one of the boy’s fell and we all laughed and then we had to help him up and see if he was okay. The really hard part was when we had to clean up because we had to get a wet cloth and I am not okay with that because I am not use to having a wet cloth in my hand but I had to get used to it. We have technology every second Tuesday. I really like technology because we get two different classes woodwork and cooking.
Instead of having apple in any type of sponge what other fruit would you have?

Mind Blowing Math
In Te Ngahere we have been learning how to expand numbers and how to find the total value of a number. I was working with two fantastic girls Jade and Angela. They helped me understand the way to expand the numbers and to find the total value of a number. When I was learning to say a decimal number on the other side of the decimal point was half of a whole number. I was not able to understand when I had first moved groups because I didn’t know most of the math that we have been learning about until now thanks to Jade and Angela I am thankful to be in there learning group for math. I found it really interesting learning something that I have learnt but had forgot everything that I had learned for the past. I have created a digital learning object to go with this post to help you with your learning in math. Do you know how to expand a number?

Not fun but crazy 4 minutes of following directions
In Te Ngahere we just finshed doing a test to see if we can follow directions. We got our paper put in front of us but we had to leave them facing down so we could not see the test because that was cheating. When the 4-minutes started we had to turn the paper around so the instructions are completely new to us. Our first direction was to read everything carefully before doing anything. I did not understand that we had to read everything carefully before doing anything because I didn’t follow that one instruction carefully because I did them as I was going along. I found this really difficult because I didn't even know that we were supposed to read ALL the directions carefully before doing anything. When we read everything we found out that we were only supposed to do questions 1 & 2. It was frosting wheen we found out we only had to do questions 1 & 2 because I did things I didn’t need to do. Can you follow the directions in 4-minutes?

Crazy and Fantastic Technology
Yesterday the year 7 and 8’s went to technology. Me and some other year 7’s had cooking and the year 8’s had woodwork. When we were in class we had to sanitize and wash our hands and take the chairs off the table because we can not work when there are chairs on the table. When we finished taking the chairs off we had to get the flour, yeast, sugar, bowl, measuring spoons. We put two teaspoons of sugar in the bowl, then we also put two teaspoons of yeast and the last thing that we had to put salt, milk powder and flour in the yeast mixture and we had to put 1 tablespoon of oil in then we mixed. When we finished that we had to put one tablespoon of oil in the yeast and flour in and mix until we get a dough constancy. We had to flour table using a flour shaker and we had to flour our hands, then we had to knead the dough. The hard part for me was when I had to cut the onions, bacon, Garlic and cheese. We finished rolling out the dough then we had to put all the ingredients on to our pizza. When we finished we put the pizza in the oven and we left them in there for 20 minutes. When the pizza was done we could smell it. It smelt divine we pulled them out of the oven and we got to try them and they were amazing. Would you try this recipe yourself at home?

The Most Fantastic Day In History
Yesterday we went to a restaurant called Greens because it was Shivam’s birthday and his mum and his dad own the Greens. When we got there I could smell the butter chicken. When we got inside there was a big VIP spot saved for all of my class. I sat right at the front with my friends. After five minutes we thanked Shivam with a card and thanks to Jade and Angler for coming up with the idea to make a happy birthday card that we had signed and given to Shivam. We had to do a karakia mo te kai then we got our food. After that got given Coke and Sprite, I had Coke but I did not drink it. We saw big and delicious Easter eggs that were waiting for us. We had rice and garlic naan bread with our butter chicken,it was delicious. I really enjoyed going to have butter chicken. I am really grateful for have Shivam as a friend. Have you ever had butter chicken?

Blazing Task Masters
In Te Ngahere we have been learning how to work together and communicate in our learning groups. We have started a new thing that we call task masters. We had to come up with a name for our groups. My groups name is called Ananomimasters we only thought of it at the last second. The first day that we stated we need to find one gift, the gift that my group and I gave to our leader was a drawing of a bird. We won for the best name and the other group won for the best gift. We started a new task master a little bit back in the term, in our groups we was to have a runner and a drawer. It was really because we were not communicating that is why it didn’t work well but what did work well was that I got to have fun with my learning group and that is what I really enjoyed when we were try to concentrate. We had to decided out of my group who is the drawer I got picked for the drawer and it was really hard for me to concentrate on what I had to draw but get this I was not allowed to see the picture and the runner was not allowed to touch the piece of paper. It was really hard because I was getting shouted at from the runner so I was getting frustrated so much that I was going to scream from the top of my lungs. This is what it looked like when the time finshed I was devastated. Can you handle getting yelled at from two people?

The Scary Tsunami During School
Last Friday we had a tsunamI drill and it was the first time that I was in a tsunami. I was really anxious and nervous because I did not know what was going on and we were going to the hill behind Paihia School and we had to evacuate from School. All of the East Coast was evacuated. We had to walk up hill behind my school and it was very steep and there were children that were struggling to get up hill so I went to help them get up the hill. The children's parents were speeding when they where going up and going down they come to take them somewhere else where there is no open sea.
This tsunami was not very fun but it did not end up hitting Paihia and Waitangi. I was really thankful that it did not end up hitting Paihia and Waitangi because I live in Waitangi and I go to Paihia School. I was having a really bad panic attack because I didn’t know where my family was so I was crying. What will you do during a tsunami?Friday, February 26, 2021
Crazy Facts About Roy Lichtenstein
In Te Ngahere we have recently been learning about Roy Lichtenstein. We needed to find 6 or 10 interesting facts about Roy Lichtenstein, but I found 12 instead of 6 or 10. I think that it is mind-blowing how Roy Lichtenstein can do the ben day art. We started our self portrait when we were doing our self portrait we need to be quiet and feel the rhythm and let it flow through your body and let all of your feelings go and just focus on your art. What do you think about the Ben Day dots?
